Ross Care Awarded Contract for Barnet NHS Wheelchair Service

Ross Care is thrilled to announce that it has been awarded the contract to serve as the provider of the Barnet Wheelchair Service.

This contract will commence on July 1, 2024, and will run for a minimum of three years. The local team can be contacted either by phone on 0208 090 3708 or via e-mail at barnetwcs@rosscare.co.uk. Ross Care is excited to bring fresh initiative and positive momentum to the service to enhance provision for the residents of Barnet.

Sam Affonso, Regional Director at Ross Care, remarked, “It is a tremendous privilege for our team to provide this service. In recent months, we have collaborated with the Barnet ICB and the exiting provider to achieve the best possible transfer of services to minimise any disruption. We are very much excited to develop and implement strategies alongside the ICB aimed at strengthening and increasing the effectiveness of the wheelchair service. We will also be launching several new initiatives, including a new website to improve information accessibility and facilitate feedback. Additionally, we are excited to introduce a new partnership with Whizz-Kidz, which will enhance our specialist support for children’s services.”

Ross Care is committed to increasing community feedback and engagement to shape the service. Forming a Service User Engagement Group is a key part of this initiative, and we warmly invite new members to join. Community Health Engagement Officer, Alex Gourney, who has lived experience as a Service User himself will lead the Service User Engagement Program. Individuals interested in participating in the group can express their interest or provide feedback by emailing barnetwcs@rosscare.co.uk.

Ross Care brings over 60 years of experience in delivering high-quality wheelchair services and approved repairs across the UK. They currently manage 40 long-term contracts in England and Wales, covering 45% of the population, and serve around 400,000 wheelchair users.
