New Contract Announcements

Ross Care is pleased to announce the successful mobilisation of the new Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Wheelchair Service, commissioned by NHS Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Integrated Care Board (ICB), which commenced on 11 May 2026. The service provides wheelchair assessment, provision, maintenance and repair services for wheelchair users across the region.

We are also delighted to confirm that Ross Care has been awarded the Staffordshire Wheelchair Service, commissioned by NHS Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board, with mobilisation currently underway ahead of service commencement in October 2026.

In addition, Ross Care has successfully retained the contract for the Specialist Wheelchair Service for Children, Young People and Adults, commissioned by NHS Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Board. The new contract will commence in October 2026, ensuring continuity of service from Mansfield Community Hospital. The award also enables the expansion of Ross Care’s existing Approved Repairer Services across Bassetlaw to include the provision of the North Nottinghamshire Specialist Wheelchair Service, creating a fully integrated service model across the region.

These contract awards reflect the continued confidence that NHS commissioners place in Ross Care to deliver high-quality, patient-focused wheelchair services that support positive outcomes and improved patient experience.

A key feature of both the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and Staffordshire services is the collaborative partnership between Ross Care and Medequip, including co-location within shared service centres in Huntingdon and Stafford. This integrated approach supports closer operational working, greater efficiency and enhanced service delivery for local wheelchair users.

We would like to thank all colleagues across Ross Care and Medequip whose dedication and collaborative efforts contributed to these successful outcomes. We look forward to working closely with our commissioning partners and continuing to deliver responsive, high-quality services for wheelchair users across these regions.
