Ross Care Wins BHTA Community Engagement Award

Ross Care is delighted to announce that we have been named the winner of the Community Engagement Award by the British Healthcare Trades Association. This recognition reflects the fantastic work taking place across our organisation to actively engage with Service Users in their communities and support their wellbeing.

Our award submission showcased a wide range of initiatives delivered by teams throughout Ross Care, including community outreach programmes, local engagement projects and the development of accessible communication resources. Together, these activities strengthen our connections with Service Users and improve access to the support they need.

At the heart of this achievement is the dedication shown by our colleagues every day. Their care, compassion and commitment to listening and learning from the people we support defines who we are as an organisation.

A key extract from our submission highlights how our work aligns with the BHTA’s values:

Compassion: CHEOs and frontline staff frequently go beyond their remit, providing emotional and practical support for individuals, including those outside our services. Many team members bring lived experience as wheelchair users or carers, helping them understand and respond to user needs.

Inclusivity: Our events welcome people of all ages and backgrounds, with engagement groups designed to reflect the diversity of our communities. In-person and virtual forums ensure accessibility for all.

Teamwork: Our approach brings together Ross Care colleagues, service users, clinicians, commissioners, charities and local authorities.

We were also proud to celebrate with our colleagues across the UK group. Medequip UK’s Wellbeing Team won Team of the Year, and Consolor received an honourable mention after being shortlisted for Manufacturer of the Year.

Ross Care’s community outreach is not just a series of initiatives; it is a deeply embedded model of engagement and empowerment. By placing community support at the heart of our operations, we continue to demonstrate what it means to provide services with compassion, creativity and respect.
